Good Old cooter used to say, some days you can’t get it in second even if you double clutch it. In our case , some days you can’t get off the tarmac, no matter how great the weather.
Tried all day to go get some seat time, in our new Bell 406L, but I had to wait for Mr. DirecTV to show up. The local installer said he was over , but he sure as hell did not knock, or call b4 hand. So I called, then I called, then I called, the outfit in California that set this con into motion, Then I called DirecTV, they said they’d have someone get back to me, then at around 17:30 I made the 13th and final call. Low down? If I don’t hear nothing by Monday at 17:00, the call they’ll get from me is to stuff it. For 100 plus channels I ought to get a grand assortment, but its all doubles of one another. Sure I’d like to have satellite to catch the Daytona 500, but it’s on local. Which means a mere buy of a $70.00 converter and a decent antenna, gets me enuff TV , plus guess what? After equipment purchases its FREE. After what I went through, there wont be no satellite company subscriptions, just grand old expanded basic Comcast. If you want to see a movie Netflix is a path, if not Netflix, buy the damn thing. Most good TV is viewable on the Internet, but my question is this; if a telemarketer calls you, and you flat say you do not qualify , but they push and qualify, and then DirecTV sends you a confirmation letter, then on the day AFTER 4 days of calls reconfirming, and they finally say because there is only one door, and because there is no outside sign, we don’t qualify. Shouldn’t the gal who called me the first time went through this, to make sure? The old adage that says if it sounds too good to be true, it most likely ain’t applies here. So I looked up DirecTV’s Facebook page, and read 20 different postings from people pretty much disappointed. First they pull the Inspiration channel, fine don’t watch that except for JAG, they pull the Weather Channel, which I use to prep to fly, my advice to Mr. White of DirecTV, sell that thing so someone with real capital can run it the way it ought to be. Some would say, I’m getting the oats I sowed, expecting a promise that does not take place, but I always follow through, and if there’s someone to be paid they get paid as long as I can find them to pay em. If they never answer the phone that’s their problem. Course I have had dealings with DirecTV b4. First was in Glenn’s Ferry in Espinoza's place. Same thing, telemarketer calls, we set it up with Bud, he pays, signal kept fading out , tried to get it fixed, finally went cable. Second time, same village, finally went cable. If ya’ll gotta pay for TV, go cable or just go local.
On cable, I still say if Comcast moved into the market, bought the system from Cable-One, and overhauled that whole thing, Comcast would kick butt here. The real problem is there is no one to put a market scare into either cable or satellite here. Teton Wireless Cable did for a short time, but finally gave in to selling out to SpeedConnect although the offices and all are still the same. Could you imagine what would happen if SpeedConnect stepped into wireless cable here? Both satellite and local cable company Cable-One would wimper. They’d also step up their game as well. Competition does that. Needless to say, once I get to Utah , I can deal with a company that’s not so anal retentive. Oh I had my go rounds with Comcast as well, years ago, but at least they WILL try to work with you, and return phone calls. The jackass’ at DirecTV never did. But if they do, it’s going to be thanks but no thanks. Too much horse shit. Bet that Ashley at Pacific Concepts out of Long Beach California don’t have a job next week. Guarantee they wont be in either of the bars.
So how was your day?
Time for bed , church in the morning.
